Dr Barbara Buckinx
Postdoctoral Fellow
Barbara Buckinx completed her PhD in Politics at Princeton University.
Her research interests are normative global governance, global distributive justice, republicanism, ideal and non-ideal theory, humanitarian intervention, and citizenship and borders.
A paper on global institutional design is forthcoming in L. Cabrera, Global Governance, Global Government: Institutional Visions for an Evolving World System (SUNY Press, 2011), and another paper, on the public-private distinction in global politics, will be included in a special issue of Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy (forthcoming, 2012). She is currently working on several articles as well as on a book manuscript, Reducing Domination in Global Politics, in which she articulates an approach to normative global governance that has at its core the ideal of freedom as non-domination.
After her stay at Justitia Amplificata Barbara Bucknix has been offered a position as Fellow of the Global Justice Center at the University of California, San Diego.
