Tobias Albrecht

Doctoral Research Fellow, GU Frankfurt

Tobias Albrecht holds a BA in Political Science and Economics/Economics in History from RWTH Aachen University as well as an MA in Political Theory from Goethe-University Frankfurt and TU Darmstadt. He was a Visiting Student at the New School for Social Research in New York during his Master’s and a Visiting Assistant in Research in Yale during his Doctoral Studies. From 2015 to 2018 he received a doctoral scholarship from the Heinrich-Boell-Foundation. Since 2018, Tobias is a permanent research fellow at the Centre of Advanced Studies “Justitia Amplificata” at Goethe-University in Frankfurt. He is a co-editor of the Theorieblog.

Tobias is generally interested in Political Theory and Social Philosophy. He has a particular interest in the political thinking of Hannah Arendt, (early and late) critical theory as well as methodologies of political theory-formation and the history of political thought. He is currently working on a PhD thesis in which he tries to bring the political thought of Hannah Arendt into a productive dialogue with the critical theory of Adorno.
