Prof Wilfried Hinsch

Senior Fellow  (April 1st 2011- March 31th 2012)

Wilfried Hinsch is Professor of Practical Philosophy at RWTH Aachen University. He has also taught in Leipzig, Heidelberg, Saarbrücken and at the Collège d’Europe in Brügge. He was a Fellow at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Bielefeld in 2002 and a Max-Weber-Fellow in Erfurt (2010/11). Since 2006 he is a member of the German Wissenschaftsrat.

His main fields of interests are the foundations of ethics, the theory of justice and human rights. His books include Zur Idee des politischen Liberalismus (Frankfurt/M: Suhrkamp 1997); Gerechtfertigte Ungleichheiten. Grundsätze sozialer Gerechtigkeit (Berlin/New York: de Gruyter 2002); Menschenrechte militärisch schützen. Ein Plädoyer für humanitäre Interventionen (with Dieter Janssen, München: C.H.
